Voices Rising - LGBTQ of Color Arts and Culture

Voices Rising is the only organization in the NW existing solely to showcase and nurture the arts and culture of LGBTQ/Two Spirit people. We present a series of outstanding shows featuring performance and visual art at Langston Hughes Performing Arts Center. We support artists, and are also committed to building bridges between communities with cultural exchange and education.

We produced our fourth show in December; it was called "The Best of the New" and featured artists under 25. A review can be found here:

So far we've presented over twenty artists including: Chad Goller-Sojourner, Christa Bell, THEESatisfaction, JusMoni, Dakota Camacho, Jourdan Keith, Magenta Marie Spinningwind, Nedra Johnson, Soul Childe, Justin Huertas, Landon Longhill, Deborah Turner, Storme Webber and Crystal Ybarra.

We also partner with community organizations such as AFSC, LHPAC, Safe Schools Coalition, Lifelong AIDS Alliance, BENT, Lambert House, Left Bank Books and others.

We're always looking for more artists: spoken word, hip hop, dancers, musicians, singers, poets and visual artists...

...and we're also seeking web support from designers.
